Ministries

Benevolence/Bereavement Ministries
Benevolence and Bereavement are vital ministries where members and people in the community may request assistance. Caring competent people are in place to minister to those in need promptly, professionally, and prayerfully.

Brotherhood Ministry
The Brotherhood Ministry is anointed men in Christ who are faithful in attending to the needs of the church. The spirit leads them in regular Bible lessons, maintaining the church property, mentoring young men, and assisting the pastor whenever possible.

Director of Teaching
St. Elmo's Christian Education ministry is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the teaching programs throughout the church. A Director of Teaching oversees the budget, curriculum, workers, schedules, teacher training, literature, materials, seminars, and monthly lesson plans.

Finance Ministry
The Finance Ministry is good and faithful stewards of the church's finances, and is committed to providing professional records. Each person receives training on how to maintain accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring financial needs are handled promptly and professionally.

Hospitality Ministry
St. Elmo’s hospitality ministry is designed to make sure every person entering the church is greeted. The goal is that everyone will feel important and welcome in this sanctuary. Ushers are a crucial part of this ministry, as well as the New Member Orientation Coordinator, Tribe Coordinator, and Kitchen/Benevolence, Bereavement Ministries.

Mission Ministry
Our Mission Ministry consists of anointed women in Christ who is dedicated to meeting the needs of the church and the community. They have regular meetings with Bible lessons, prayers, visiting the sick/shut-in, giving food baskets, providing grief assistance, and equipping women to be faithful and loving in accordance with God's word.

Music Ministry
We have several Holy Ghost filled music ministries: a Mass Choir, Youth Choir, Brotherhood Choir, Young Adult Inspirational Choir, Dance Ministry, Praise Band, and a Praise/Worship Group that leads Praise Service at Worship Services. All are committed to using their gifts/talents to the glory of God.

Pastor's Aide Committee
The Pastor's Aide ministry is designed to provide supplementary support to the Pastor and his family. The goal is to show appreciation to the pastor for his leadership and spiritual guidance in the church.

Scholarship Ministry
The purpose of the St. Elmo Scholarship Ministry is to promote the continuing education of the graduating youth of this church. The objective is to show church and spiritual support for youth as they work towards academic success. Scholarships awarded are based on GPA, church participation, community involvement, and an application process that is reviewed by a committee.

Singles Ministry
Our singles ministry is designed to meet the unique needs of single persons in our congregation as well as in the community. Singles meet regular for Bible lessons, support, and have Christian activities to encourage fellowship.

Tape/Sound Ministry
The tape/sound ministry is designed to enhance the church worship experience through maintaining clear and comfortable sound levels within the church facilities. The tape ministry handles all orders for audiocassettes or CDs, providing music for special performances by music ministry members, and ordering supplies for this ministry.

Teaching Ministry
The teaching ministry encourages spirit-filled Bible lessons that encourage Christian growth in all ministries. The Bible is the foundation for all lessons, and we have a Teaching Director that prayerfully reviews all lesson plans and teaching materials throughout the departments. This includes Sunday school, Bible Study, and Teacher's Meetings.

Tribe Ministry
St. Elmo Tribe ministry is an effective coordination of communication among church members in a timely manner. The Pastor calls the chairman of the deacons, who calls the church administrator, who calls the tribe coordinator, who calls all the tribe overseers, who call tribe leaders, who call members. It is a fast method used for emergencies.

Usher Ministry
Our Usher Ministry are the doorkeepers to our sanctuary. They are anointed and faithful to give loving, professional service to members and guests at all services. They meet regularly to practice, pray, and prepare for worship services. All ushers are trained through workshops.

Youth Ministry
Our Youth Ministry consists of the 'From Christian Children to Christian Adults', a Youth Choir, and a Youth Praise Team and Dance Ministry. Youth are respected for their individual differences and for their contributions to the body of Christ. Youth have mentors to go to, they attend community events as a group, and have regular sessions where they learn about how to be effective young people for Jesus.
